45W DPAK/TO252 Power Chip Widerstand for automotive Applications

RNP45 is a series of SMD power resistors manufactured by Nikkohm in Japan. They are known as SMD surge protection resistors and are offered in a TO-252 like package (D-PAK footprint), with only 1mm height and a weight of 0.3g. These resistors are known for their high performance, low thermal resistance and good RF characteristics. They are used in various areas such as the automotive industry, railway technology, wind power, photovoltaics and drive technology.

Features of the RNP45 series:

High power: The RNP45 resistors have a rated power of 45 Watts mounted on a heat dissipating PCB or 2.5 W without cooling.

Wide temperature range: They are specified for a temperature range of -55 °C to +175 °C and are therefore suitable for automotive applications and specified in accordance with AEC-Q200.

Low thermal resistance: The thermal resistance is less than 1.0 °C/W, which ensures good cooling performance.

Good RF characteristics: They are well suited for use in high-speed pulse applications, with 8.38 nH and a capacitance of 1.44 pF.

Compact design: The TO-252 housing enables space-saving installation.

Versatile applications: They can be used as snubber resistors, gate resistors, brake resistors and in many other applications.

Wide resistance range: The resistance range extends from 0.02 Ohm to 51 kOhm with a tolerance of ±1 % and a TC of 100.

The RNP45 series is a further development of existing SMD power resistors and offers advantages in terms of processing and price.

The components are RoHS compliant and lead-free (Pb-free).

The compact design enables use in many different applications, e.g. control of gate circuits in power electronics, pulsed high-speed circuits, for overvoltage protection in power electronics, in consumption meters, in measuring devices, samrt meters, battery chargers, on-board chargers, charging columns and many more.
