Platzsparend und Robust: GTC erweitert USB-Type-C-Serie um FPC-Versionen

GT Contact (GTC), the Taiwanese specialist in outdoor and industrial connectors, is introducing an innovative addition to its USB Type-C portfolio. Effective immediately, the proven panel-mount connectors are now also available with flexible printed circuits (FPC)—the ideal solution for extremely compact enclosure designs.

In modern industrial and outdoor devices, the installation space behind the front panel is becoming increasingly limited. Traditional round cables often reach their limits here due to their stiffness and the required bend radii. GTC addresses this problem by integrating flexible printed circuits (FPC).

Maximum flexibility in the tightest of spaces

The new models, such as the plastic version GT11C200-CS-FPC-Z2 and the metal version GT21C300-CS-FPC-Z2, enable extremely small bending radii thanks to their flat FPC design. This allows for clean signal routing directly from the panel-mount port to the internal electronics, even if the electronics are located immediately behind the housing wall.

These connectors combine the benefits of the modern USB-C standard with GTC's proven mechanical durability:

• High protection rating: Depending on the material selected, the connectors achieve IP67 (plastic) or IP68 (metal) when mated and unmated.
• High-performance: Supports a charging current of up to 5A (VBUS).
• Temperature-resistant: Reliable operation over a wide temperature range from −40 °C to +85 °C.
• Robust materials: High-quality housings made of Zn alloy (Ni-plated) or PA66 plastic, as well as gold-plated contacts, ensure long-term durability.
