Charging connectors for robotics
Demand for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in manufacturing and logistics is growing rapidly as companies continue to accelerate their automation processes. This is accompanied by a growing need for connectors that enable absolutely reliable, automatic docking and fast charging - even when the robot is not positioned precisely..
This is exactly where JAE’s new DW15 series comes in. Designed specifically for the autonomous charging of self-driving robots, this floating connector features an innovative dual-floating structure: both the insulator on the housing side and the inner contact can move freely. As a result, the connector effectively compensates for positional deviations during docking—even with lateral, diagonal, or angled approaches, which often lead to misconnections with conventional pin connectors.
On the robot side, a busbar contact structure with a large contact area is used. This ensures a secure and stable connection from virtually any realistic approach direction while also supporting fast high-current charging (up to 60 A at 250 V DC). The DW15 series is designed for up to 10,000 mating cycles and thus meets the highest requirements for durability and reliability in demanding continuous operation.
In short: With the DW15 series, JAE offers a future-proof solution for fully automated charging systems for autonomous robots—robust, fault-tolerant, and designed for maximum uptime in modern smart factories and warehouses.
